Overview:

The history of Bay of Fundy Gems goes back a long way, indeed to the very first European explorers. For in the early 1600's the French explorer Pierre du Gua, the “Sieur de Mons”, the founder of Port Royal, gathered amethyst from Partridge Island near Parrsboro on the Bay of Fundy, had it cut and set by a Paris jeweller, and presented it to King Henry IV of France as an indication of the riches to be found in the New World.

On this tour your our expert guide Brian Hebert takes you on a treasure hunt to find your own such gems. Learn Brian's process in how to select quality gemstones that can be transformed into beautiful heirloom pieces of jewelry. You'll soon see why visitors have been searching for and collecting these beautiful stones for over two hundred years.
