Nova Scotia Tree for Boston Candle

Our Nova Scotia Tree for Boston Candle has a festive Balsam Fir scent.  Our 7.5 oz candle contains one of 8 collectible pewter Christmas tree ornaments handmade in Nova Scotia by Basic Spirit Pewter while our 3.5 oz candle contains a Bay of Fundy gemstone.

In 1918, Halifax sent a Christmas tree to the City of Boston in thanks and to remember the help that the Boston Red Cross and the Massachusetts Public Safety Committee provided immediately after the Halifax Explosion on December 6th, 1917. In 1971, the Lunenburg Christmas Tree Producers Association, began an annual donation of a large tree to promote Christmas tree exports as well as acknowledge Boston's support after the explosion. The gift was later taken over by the Nova Scotia Government to continue the goodwill gesture as well as to promote trade and tourism. The tree is Boston’s official Christmas tree and is lit on Boston Common throughout the holiday season.
